Above you can see a new Sufjan Stevens song called “There’s Too Much Love” from a concert Sept. 23 in Ithaca. This 7+ minute song (which, really, isn’t that long for Sufjan) includes a jazzy National Anthem style breakdown, trombone, electro beats, and all the orchestral and back up vocals we’ve come to love from Sufjan. This thing, however, seems subtly darker than his past efforts. Think: You Are the Blood, not Illinoise. The whole thing makes me remember how talented this guy is, even though he hasn’t put out anything in 4 years. Come back, Sufjan!
